Windows: we clean!
Written by Alex January 13, 2009 - 10:04 am
You're running out of disk space because of your beloved OS, maybe Vista? Vista accumulate piles of temporary files, cached files and assorted junk in daily operations, especially browsing on the Internet. The free disk space is affected by this and continues to fall (have you ever wondered why are more and more capacious disks?) Unless you shall. Moreover, the existence of these files will degrade performance and increase the fragmentation of data on disk - and virtually no one I know ever does defragmentation with Defrag (right click on a disk drive and Properties, Tools, Defragment files on the volume).

Disable Windows Vista UAC
Written by Alex October 6, 2008 - 11:39 amUser Account Control (UAC) is a new set of infrastructure technologies that enable better desktop management while reducing the impact of malware on the system. If the feature is enabled in Windows Vista, all users, including administrators, log on with a standard user account. Administrators can selectively initiate administrative applications can use the full privileges of the account only when necessary. When users with access privileges to your account, log in realtè environment of a standard user account, but they can run their applications with full privileges after approval. By default, current versions of Windows configure most user accounts as members of the Administrators group. This is a serious security risk because malware producers are more able to gain complete control of attached systems. With the UAC feature, Vista separates standard user privileges and activities from the administrative, greatly reducing the chances of attack.
