Disk Manager will not start: what to do?
Written by Alex August 8, 2010 - 9:28 pm
Suddenly you are not able to enter Computer Management, Storage, Disk Management, you access the operating system with an administrator account, running compmgmt.msc, and when you click on Disk Management window appears with the error:
Error 1068: the dependency service or group failed.
Insisting then you get the error:
Could not start the logical disk management service on local computer
Error 126: Can not find the specified module
This was in reference to two services that you should check in Computer Management, Services, that are both started in automatic mode:
- Logical Disk Manager (Logical Disk Manager)
Manages logical disks and removable.
It depends on Plug and Play, Remote Procedure Call
- Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service (Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service)
Used for logical disks
Depends on Logical Disk Manager, Plug and Play, Remote Procedure Call
If everything is already so set, try to Start, Run to give the command:
sfc / scannow
with the relevant operating system CD, which will be required.
If this does not solve the problem, go to c: \ windows \ System32 \ and make sure you have the files and Dmadmin.exe dmserver.dll.
Even after using sfc these may be missing or have been renamed, for example dmserveresl.dll.
Rename them if any other name or copy them from a PC running the same operating system from the CD or the OS

I followed the advice given, but the service disk management does not want to know funzionare.L 'mistake' "connection to the Virtual Disk Service Failed".
Thank you for your help.
